Education

Following graduation from Moncton High School, Margaret won the prestigious Beaverbrook Scholarship for four years at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton. During one of those years, she was an exchange student at the University of Maine in Orono. During her year there, Margaret explored the north-eastern states, and noted subtle but distinct cultural differences between the U.S. and Canada. She graduated from UNB in 1971 with a B.A. in Honours Psychology. After taking several years off to raise her family, she returned to university studies at McGill, leading her graduating class and completing her Master of Library and Information Studies (M.L.I.S.) in 1990.
